BET announced that they will be taking 106 & Park off of television after 14 years on air.
The hip hop music countdown variety show has had an extremely successful 14 year run on BET and has continuously been one of the network's most successful shows.
106 & Park premiered back in 2000 and challenged MTV's similarly styled show, Total Request Live.
Not all is lost though. BET's President of Music Programming Stephen Hill announced that although 106 & Park will no longer be broadcast on television, it's finding a new home online.
"It’s been a great 14-year run as America’s top music/variety show on cable, and now that very valuable brand is going to take its talents to the digital realm," Hill said according to BET's website. "The interactive brand you helped build, 106 & Park, is alive and well…and it’s moving to the space in which our audience NOW interacts with music the most: online."
106 & Park has had a number of hosts over the years. The show is currently hosted by Bow Wow and Keshia Chante who will continue to host the show until the final episode on December 19.
