With the city of Buffalo buried in snow, the NFL has reportedly begun looking at alternate sites for the Bills’ Sunday home game against the New York Jets.

While there were hopes yesterday that the Bills would be able to play at home, despite already losing days of practice this week, the NFL has decided that it isn’t feasible.

NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport was told by sources that nearby stadiums in Pittsburgh and Toronto have already been ruled out as alternate sites. Pitt plays Syracuse on Saturday at Heinz Field and the stadium hosts high school championship games on Friday.

Sources for ESPN say that the remaining choices are Detroit and Washington, D.C. There wouldn’t be any conflicts with the Lions or Redskins, since both are away this weekend.

Another option is playing the game on Monday.

Just four hours ago, the Bills tweeted a picture of Ralph Wilson Stadium completely buried in snow. According to Weather.com, lake-effeect snow will continue to hit the Buffalo area. Since lake-effect snow began falling on the region, eight people have died.
