Things just keep getting better for the Arizona Cardinals franchise. Today they've announced a contract extension with starting QB Carson Palmer.
CBS Sports has reported that the agreement is worth $50 million in total over three years. Palmer, 34, was set to become a free agent at the end of the 2014 season.
For Palmer, Arizona is his third stop in the NFL. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals number-one overall in the 2003 NFL Draft, and played two seasons for the Oakland Raiders prior to joining the Cardinals before the 2013 season. It seems he has now found his permanent home.
Palmer is a two-time Pro Bowl selection (2005, 2006), and has gone over 20 TD's in a single season on seven different occasions.
This season he has 1,385 passing yards and 11 TDs in five games, notes Pro Football Reference. Palmer will lead his 7-1 Cardinals into week 10's matchup against the 3-5 St. Louis Rams.
