Carrie Underwood reveals the cute story behind how she and husband Mike Fisher found out they’re expecting a baby boy before they revealed it to the world during the Country Music Awards, which she co-hosted with Brad Paisley again.
The “Something In the Water” singer said they didn’t want to find out in the doctor’s office, so they had the doctor write down the baby’s gender on a piece of paper after the sonogram so they could look at it at a later date.
"[It was] just the two of us in a nicer setting, but we both knew," she said about their decision to open it while out to dinner. "So, that was just confirming our suspicions. We didn't really speak of it before, 'cause we were both just like, 'Whatever. It's all good.' But we knew it was a boy."
Underwood also told ABC News Radio she waited to tell Paisley up until right before they went on stage, because "he’s got loose lips. He's a blabber mouth!"
As we previously reported, Underwood and Paisley revealed the sex of the baby in a bit onstage, with Paisley spilling the beans in the opening monologue.
“What are you doing?! What is wrong with you?!… Well, you kept that a secret for a whole two minutes,” she joked.
