Sami was offered a life-changing opportunity. Will and Sonny were on the outs about the Chad article. Kristen got the goods on Theresa. JJ and Paige tracked down Jill. Eve's plans continued to unravel. John saw Kristen as the bigger threat. Chad and Victor helped Sami out of her mess. Sami and Nicole shared a warm moment. Kayla defended JJ. Daniel promised to protect Brady from Kristen. Clyde and Jordan fought over the past.
Paige crawled into JJ’s bed, and was confused at his panicked reaction when he woke up. JJ couldn't bring himself to confide in her the doubts he felt about how much he really was like his father. Paige was confused and insulted at being constantly pushed away. She began to wonder if there was a secret he was keeping from her, like if he had been with another girl. He couldn’t give her an explanation, so she stormed out of his house.
Eve and Eric went out for a drink after their successful photography session. She began to flirt with him before Maggie walked up to them. There was evident tension between her and Eve, and Eric learned Eve and Jennifer had their issues with one another. He later assured Eve he took people one at a time and wouldn’t judge her despite being good friends with Jennifer. At home, Eve found Paige upset on the couch, but she wouldn’t talk to her.
Kristen asked Daniel to meet at her hotel room to make another pitch for his assistance in bringing down Theresa. She showed him photographs of Theresa talking to Eve and Anne, suspecting she confided in one of them about what she did. Daniel confirmed it was possible and told Kristen to have fun uncovering her proof. However, if she planned to use the intel to get Brady back, she would have to go through him first. Kristen began to flirt with Daniel before Jennifer happened upon them. She was stunned to find Daniel in Kristen’s room and asked what was going on. Daniel left , and Jennifer ripped into her former friend about setting her sights on the doctor. Kristen promised she was not the enemy, but Jennifer wouldn’t hear it.
Will met with Chad to explain the new angle his editor wanted for the profile piece. With EJ’s passing, the article would be about Chad as the new DiMera heir. Chad was surprised with the new idea and told Will to go for it.
Kate brought bad news of going to prison for Sami after her questionable moves made at the company were brought to light. She and Kate were facing trouble with the S.E.C., making her panic. Kate and Lucas brainstormed with her a way out of the situation. Sami realized this would possibly be the way Stefano would take her kids away from her. Will overheard the exchange in the garden by the door.

Sami had a dream of being led off to prison in front of her daughter. Kate tried to lift her spirits, saying she and Lucas were doing everything they could to help her out. Sami broke down in tears with everything going on, and Kate consoled her with a hug. Sami pulled away and wondered why Kate was helping her. She danced around the question before revealing she really cared about Sami, since they were family. Later, after Will told him what was going on, Victor showed up at the mansion to offer his help to the women. While he and Kate went to a meeting, Sami cleaned herself up and got some surprise visitors.
Abigail gave Sonny advice on his current situation with Will. Sonny looked for his husband to spend some time with him. Will would rather work on his article about Chad. He came off a little smug about it, and Sonny called him out on it.
Chad found an excuse to visit Abigail. They bonded over babysitting Arianna, while Ben watched from the door. Their moment was interrupted when Ben made himself known.
At TBD, Clyde offered Ben a job and promised to help his son in anyway he could because of his aspiration of going to college.
Theresa told Anne she and Brady slept together and things were finally looking up for her. However, Brady approached her and told her they needed to put the brakes on their relationship because of his father. Kristen got to him, and he wouldn’t use Theresa to make himself feel better. Theresa masked her disappointment and received a panicked call from Eve.
Kristen dropped by Eve’s apartment to confront her about what Theresa did to John. Eve covered, and Kristen planted a bug on one of her lamps, while she took a call. Later, Kristen lured Anne to her hotel room to talk about starting a scholarship fund in EJ’s name. While Anne was ecstatic in doing research, Kristen planted a bug in her purse.
Theresa arrived at Eve’s apartment, and Kristen listened in from an app on her tablet. Just when Theresa was about to incriminate herself, Kristen was forced to stop listening when she thought Brady was her room service.

Brady arrived at Kristen’s hotel room, looking for a way to pay her back for saving his father’s life. She wouldn’t accept his money and tried to get him to accept they still had a connection. Meanwhile, Eve promised her little sister she didn’t tell Kristen anything, but warned her to be careful because Kristen was gunning for her. Later, Kristen finally scored a confession from Theresa after she admitted during a conversation with Anne what she did to John.
John and Marlena spoke of plans for their future. When he was alone, he figured Kristen was still a threat to Brady. Once he dealt with her, he would go after Theresa.
A panicked Sami called Kate for help after she was met with people in black suits in her living room. Kate rushed home and got an explanation from Harold. She showed Sami their business card, and Sami was relieved. Because of the success of Will’s article about the DiMera Enterprises takeover, Universal Studios executives wanted to do a story on Sami. Later, Chad arrived and thought it was time the three of them talked about the trouble Sami was in.
Clyde offered to pay for Ben’s college tuition; that way, he could use his money to get a place of his own to live. Ben considered the offer, but when he told Jordan, she flipped, leading to a sibling argument. Jordan tracked down her step-father and threatened to tell her brother what Clyde did in the past. Clyde threatened to tell him what she did to their mother.
Before, Abigail gave Jordan her blessing to date Chad. However, she confronted Chad about going after Jordan to get back at her and Ben. Chad was immediately insulted.

JJ invited Paige to his house and prepared to tell her the truth about his father. Meanwhile, Jill returned with an attempt to blackmail more money out of Eve. However, Eve turned the tables on her by threatening to go to the police with information that Jill drugged JJ. At the hospital, Eve ran into Kayla, who defended her nephew. Eve insisted JJ was exactly like Jack, and Kayla, of all people, knew what Jack was really like. In the park, Rory found Jill and began chasing after her.
Jordan fought back against Clyde, insisting she didn’t kill her mother, but Clyde thought differently. He jogged her memory about how freaked out she was after the car accident that killed her mother. She kept telling him she didn’t mean to do it. Jordan defended herself, saying she was trying to get her mother away from Clyde’s influence as he used to come home drunk and beat them up. Clyde warned her if she continued to poison Ben against him, he would make sure everyone in Salem knew what she did. Chad ran into a devastated Jordan and began to console her.
Earlier, Chad demanded answers from Sami and Kate about what they were hiding from him. When Stefano called and Chad threatened to tell him, the women agreed to confide in the young DiMera. He offered his help, since he was a majority shareholder in DiMera Enterprises. Sami was touched by his gesture and expressed her gratitude towards EJ. “Wherever you are, thank you.”
Rafe and Nicole were having coffee at the pub when they discussed EJ’s murder. Nicole was happy she made peace with him, while Rafe expressed he still hated him. They talked about Sami’s kids, and Rafe inquired about Nicole seeing Sydney. She was doubtful as Sami would be angry, but Rafe encouraged her to go.
Sydney showed Sami the family picture she made and asked if they could send it to EJ in heaven. The doorbell rang, and Sydney was happy to see Nicole. Sami told her to get an envelope for the picture. Nicole offered her condolences, and the two women shared a hug.

Nicole and Sami shared a drink while reminiscing about their turbulent past. In a rare warm moment, Nicole offered Sami advice about the future. She told her enemy to go to Hollywood and give her kids and herself a fresh start. Sam received good news from Kate and moved forward with her plans. She even allowed Nicole to say goodbye to Sydney. She went up to Sydney’s room, and they shared a heartfelt goodbye that ended with Nicole reading to her.
Sonny urged Will to talk to him about their problems. Will admitted he felt Sonny didn’t respect or support him in his career. He wanted to live out his dreams like Sonny did when he was traveling the world. When Will left to see his mother, they were still on bad terms. Sonny confided in Kate about their problems.
Abigail accidentally slipped to Ben that Chad was interested in Jordan. They tracked him down where he was consoling Jordan. Ben warned Chad to stay away from his sister, and in a private conversation, Jordan told him she didn’t deserve his love or protection. Ben questioned her as Clyde overheard them.
Chad accused Abigail of being jealous that he was pursuing Jordan and not her. She made it clear to him that it wasn’t the case. Before happening upon his kids, Clyde got Kate to agree to go on another date with him.
Rory told JJ and Paige about seeing Jill. They tracked her down with no luck. Paige got upset when she overheard Rory accuse JJ of not wanting to find Jill. Earlier, Jill sought refuge with Eve. They had a close moment before Paige returned home and almost caught Jill. Eve then ordered her leave town immediately, but not before Paige found her in the park. At the same time, JJ showed up at Paige’s place, just as Eve slipped and fell.
