In the heels of Nik Wallenda’s tight roping stunt across the Chicago skyline, Discovery has their next life-threatening trick planned.
Paul Rosolie has actually volunteered to get eaten alive by an anaconda in a special called Eaten Alive, set to air on Dec. 7.
The naturalist, wildlife expert and author of Mother of God; An Extraordinary Journey into the Uncharted Territories of the Western Amazon.. can be seen in several previews of the special in the events leading up to it, and he obviously lived through the ordeal.
According to Entertainment Weekly, another network was working on a similar special called Manaconda but never ended up airing it.
Rosolie is seen in the two promos that have been released wearing a suit to disguise himself as something appetizing for the anaconda, and he reportedly covered himself in pig’s blood for added effect.
The network is hoping to continue their success of airing hair-raising stunts, following Wallenda’s special getting 5.8 million viewers Sunday night.
