Hospital drama Red Band Society is the latest casualty of the Fall 2014 season, although it isn’t exactly cancelled.

Red Band Society is based on a Spanish series, developed for Fox by Margaret Nagel. While the series does feature Octavia Spencer, the show about a group of teens in a hospital ward never got a great audience. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show has only averaged 5.1 million viewers and a 1.8 18-49 rating - and that’s with DVR numbers factored in.

Entertainment Weekly notes that the show will air its last episode on Dec. 3. However, three more episodes were produced and will air eventually.

Red Band isn’t dead yet. Fox could decide to renew it next year. It’s in the same state of limbo that NBC put Constantine in. In that case, NBC also decided not to order more episodes beyond the initial 13, but has not formally killed the show.

Fox has struggled mightily this season, as Gotham remains its only freshman show to get a full season.
