Tension Is Higher than Ever in Gotham

Oswald is walking down the street enjoying his freedom. Fish is furious that Jim didn’t kill Oswald. She demands to have him brought to her. Jim and Harvey have a confrontation where Jim tries to convince Harvey to help him fix this. Harvey hits him and after a struggle, Harvey says, “You better hope you never see me again.” Barbara is sitting in her apartment feeling very uncomfortable with Fish’s two associates sitting with her. Jim arrives and tells them to leave. They threaten his and Barbara’s life and Jim attacks both of them. He then takes Barbara to the bus station and wants her to leave Gotham. He says he will join her in a few days after he takes care of what he has to do.

Victor vs. Gordon

Fish and Falcone have a meeting where Fish wants Jim, Harvey and Oswald all dead. Fish claims that Oswald was his right-hand man and that he knows too much. Falcone says he will send Victor to get Jim. Fish feels that Falcone knows something important, that nobody else knows. Jim arrives to GCPD where it is very uncomfortable due to the recent events. Jim tells the captain that he wants to arrest Mayor Aubrey and Falcone on conspiracy charges related to the Wayne murders. The captain assures him that nobody is going to help him, but Jim refuses to back down. Victor arrives to GCPD with two associates to apprehend Jim. Jim declines an invitation to go peacefully and a shootout ensues. Jim is shot in the chest and stumbles down the stairs into the parking lot. He is hiding behind cars avoiding Victor. He is running away when he is shot in the leg and about to be captured by Victor when Renee and Crispus of MCU arrive and give Jim a hand. We see Victor kill a cop and take out a box cutter and add another mark to his arm.

The Golden Goose

Jim is recovering in the dissection lab of the university where MCU brought him so he would be safe. He immediately gets up and demands that he has to go back out there. Fish meets with Maroni to try and negotiate Maroni giving up Oswald. Maroni refuses and when Fish says she and Maroni feel disrespected, Oswald gives an “apology” to Fish and after making comments to her she smacks him and promises him that what she does to him will be even worse than torture. Maroni’s ammunition trucks are coming down the bridge when they are blocked in by Butch where he tells them that Falcone won’t allow his trucks to come across the bridge until Maroni gives up Oswald. He sends a violent message by shooting them both in the leg. Maroni is furious that they found out about his trucks. Oswald suggests they could pay off Falcone but Maroni wants to strike back even harder. Oswald says he knows just what to do.

Love Conquers All

Renee is apologizing to Jim for misjudging him when they are sitting out in her car in the woods. Alfred comes up and slams Crispus against the window. Jim says they had to sneak in since the mob is after him. He brings in MCU to meet Bruce. Jim tells Bruce he might have to break his promise to finding his parents’ killer. He is going to try and fix this but if he can’t, MCU will take over the case.

We see Falcone’s men sitting around when Oswald walks up with armed men. They set explosives and blow down the door and begin opening fire. They kill everyone inside and the men don’t like that Oswald has Maroni twisted. The men then grab Frankie, one of Maroni’s closest guys. Oswald insults him and calls him a cheapskate then stabs him repeatedly, killing him.

Mutual Respect and Taking Action

Maroni and Falcone meet and exchange condolences about their losses. Falcone agrees that the violence should stop because business is good. In a sign of good faith, Falcone offers that Maroni can keep Oswald unharmed but he wants property from Maroni. Maroni declines the initial offer but Oswald whispers an idea to Maroni and he suggests property in Arkham. In keeping with good faith, Falcone accepts the deal. Fish and Oswald exchange very different looks at one another.

Jim is preparing for war when a drunken Harvey shows up. He agrees to work with Jim. Jim reveals his plan to arrest the Mayor and Falcone. Harvey doesn’t like the plan but he is on board. The next morning Jim and Harvey serve Mayor Aubrey with his arrest warrant.

The Penguin Has Arrived

The Mayor’s limousine arrives at Falcone’s mansion. The Mayor comes inside handcuffed and Jim and Harvey walk inside to arrest Falcone. He says he respects the fact that they have nothing to lose, but then claims he has a knife to Barbara’s throat as they speak. He claims Victor has Barbara. Falcone claims that Barbara came back to plead for Jim’s life. Falcone won’t prove whether he is lying or not. Jim is undecided on what he should do.

We see Victor in the kitchen with Barbara tied up and the girl Fish sent in to manipulate Falcone. Victor gets a phone call and brings Barbara out, revealing that Jim made the right call to not arrest them. Falcone praises Jim and Harvey, claiming Gotham needs men like them. Falcone agrees to let them leave. Jim wants to know if there is a catch. Falcone just tells him to think about what he said.

Jim and Barbara are glad to be okay and sharing a touching moment. In his kitchen, Falcone is eating breakfast made for him by the girl. He goes out to his chicken coop. Oswald arrives and they share an embrace. We see a flashback where it is revealed that Oswald has been working with Falcone since the beginning. They set up Jim because they knew he wouldn’t kill him. He plans to infiltrate the Maroni family. We see Oswald admit that Fish is planning to take him out. In the present, Oswald is glad that Falcone spared Jim. He guarantees that Jim will see the light…one way or another.
