HBO has proven that as a network they are able to deliver with original projects including that of Game of Thrones and Entourage and now the network is announcing their next project. HBO has ordered a new series based on the 1973 sci-fi vision by Michael Crichton Westworld. The series will be titled the same as and will feature Anthony Hopkins in the lead role.

Westworld will be produced by Jonathan Nolan and JJ Abrams. Nolan just wrote and worked on Interstellar, Mashable reported. Nolan also co-wrote the pilot script with his wife Lisa Joy.

The series will also be starring some other big Hollywood names including, Ed Harris, James Marsden, Thandie Newton and Evan Rachel Wood. This will be the first TV role for Anthony Hopkins.

HBO explained the show by saying its "a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin."

Time added that the announcement for the show was made in a unique way by HBO. They took to Twitter and Vine to announce the show cryptically.
