It was another exciting week on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Jimmy Kimmel celebrated his birthday and welcomed a variety of guests. Christoph Waltz was there to promote his new film Horrible Bosses 2 and Jim Carrey cut passerby's hair on Hollywood Blvd. to promote his new film, Dumb and Dumber To. Other celebrities that appeared include Keira Knightley, Nate Parker, Aubrey Plaza, and Mike Myers. The show featured musical performances by Spandeu Ballet, Tears for Fears, and Oran "Juice" Jones. There were a lot of hilarious moments this week, but here's a recap of the highlights.
Pedestrian Question-Hello Kitty Con
In these popular, recurring "Pedestrian Question" segments, Kimmel sends a camera crew to different places to ask random people a question. Then the audience guesses what their response will be. In this segment, Kimmel interviewed the attendants of a Hello Kitty convention, asking adults if they had come to the convention with their kids. See if you can guess their response along with the audience.
Christoph Waltz's Dramatic Interpretation of Sesame Street Theme Song
Christoph Waltz has won an Oscar, so it's no surprise that the man can act. But in this segment Waltz performs the most powerful, emotional rendition of the Sesame Street Theme song that one could imagine. The performance is both hilarious and strangely moving. Are those actual TEARS he managed to squeeze out? See for yourself in this clip:
Christoph Waltz as a young actor in Austria
Christoph Waltz was definitely one of the standout celebrity guests of the week and in this segment he entertained us with a performance from his past. During his interview with Waltz, Kimmel asked him about how old he was when he got his start in acting (he was 19) and about the type of roles he had gotten (Waltz claimed they were always dramatic). Then Kimmel revealed that he had found a long-lost clip of a young Waltz from his earlier acting days in Austria. Christoph Waltz is known for playing dark, quirky characters, but I think this one is the most shocking:
Cousin Sal Shouts Compliments
Always an entertaining part of Kimmel's show, Cousin Sal was sent out yet again on another crazy, hilarious task. This time he pranked the people of Hollywood Blvd. by aggressively yelling nice compliments at people. Confused? So were the victims of this prank as they were harassed with a stream of high praise. See the interaction here:
Do you Have What it Takes? Episode 2
In this second episode of Kimmel's parody of reality competition shows, Jimmy Kimmel and his fellow judges viewed the auditions of even more quirky individuals from Craigslist (need I say more) to answer the one question...do they have what it takes? See the hilariously awkward auditions in this video.
This Week in Unnecessary Censorship - Sesame Street Edition
Prepare to have your Sesame Street days ruined. In honor of the show's 45th anniversary, Kimmel dedicated this week's Unnecessary Censorship segment to the beloved children' show and the results are SO wrong.
