The Big Bang Theory actor Kunar Nayyar, who plays Raj Koothrappali, stopped by the Ellen DeGeneres Show where he spoke out about co-star Carol Ann Susi, who recently passed away after battling cancer.

E! News reported that Nayyar paid tribute to his co-star by saying, “Sadly, a couple of days ago, we lost one of our cast members. She’s famous because of her voice. She unfortunately lost her battle with cancer. We will miss her and she was a lovely lady. Her spirit will live with us on set forever.”

Nayyar also revealed that he would give Susi rides home from work because she didn’t drive a car. In order to get to work on the Big Bang set, she took the bus.

According to Entertainment Tonight, one of the ways that Nayyar remembers her are based on the conversations he had with Susi in the car on the way home, where they lived near each other.

He said that Susi would comment, “I don’t understand how people recognize me from my voice.” She would also apparently talk about being happy to be where she was and there was no other “place I’d rather be.”

There hasn’t been any word yet on what the show will do in regards to handling the actress’ death onscreen, but it is clear she is deeply missed by her co-stars.
