Lena Dunham is responding to accusations that she sexually molested her younger sister, Grace Dunham, because of a story she told about her in her memoir Not That Kind of Girl.
Two conservative columnists, Kevin D. Williamson and Bradford Thomas, have made the accusations against Dunham, who did compare herself to a “sexual molestor” in the book when recalling memories about her childhood with her sister. She wrote about being curious about what her sister's private parts look like, later writing about bribing her with kisses.
However, she took to Twitter to say she “won’t entertain it” and her friend even suggested these attacks are ironically being made on Dunham as she launched a Planned Parenthood fund, E! Online reports.
The Girls creator tweeted, “The right wing news story that I molested my little sister isn't just LOL- it's really f--king upsetting and disgusting,” adding, “And by the way, if you were a little kid and never looked at another little kid's vagina, well, congrats to you.”
She went on to write she normally ignores these types of stories but reminded, “don't demean sufferers” of abuse and “don't twist my words.”
