Marvel heroes will be fighting one of Japan’s biggest and most intense villains soon.
C.B Cebulski, a talent researcher for Marvel Comics, revealed on Monday via Twitter that their comic book universe will cross over with the hit manga and anime Attack on Titan, according to Polygon. Cebulski even gave a taste of the crossover in an image showing Spider-Man escaping from the titular giants.
“If you ever wondered, ‘What if the titans from Hajime Isayama’s ‘Attack on Titan’ attacked the Marvel universe?’, you’ll find out soon,” Cebulski wrote on Twitter.
Polygon reported that Cebulski stated the crossover will be released in two weeks in Japan. However, Marvel didn’t say if there were plans on releasing the comic in North America or the people behind the making of the event.
Comic Book Resources explained that the original story for Attack on Titan is set in a world where giant creatures called Titans almost decimate the human population. The main character of the series is Eren Yeager, who joins an army that fights Titans after his mother is eaten by one of them.
