Despite saying that he wouldn't be doing anymore Bourne movies, it looks like Matt Damon will be reprising the role of Jason Bourne in the new film that's set to be released next year.

According to E! News , it was actually friend, Ben Affleck, who let the cat out of the bag. While E! News was talking to Damon and Affleck about their recent projects and fitness, Affleck said, "Well, [Damon's] going to be doing a Bourne movie next fall when I've just completely lost any semblance of physical fitness. So….,"

When asked for clarification, Damon confirmed that he would be teaming back up with director Paul Greengrass for the latest installment in the Bourne series.

Late last year, Greengrass expressed disinterest in directing his third film for the Bourne movies. He told Deadline that, "In the end I felt I had given it my all in two films I’m very proud of and didn’t want to make another if I didn’t believe it could be as good if not better."

Damon told E! News that he would be interested in doing another Bourne movie if Greengrass had agreed to sign on. Justin Lin was set to direct the fifth film, but now that Greengrass has signed back on, it looks like fans of the movies will really be in for a treat!

In June, rumors began swirling that the fifth installment of the film had been delayed because Universal Studios wanted to accommodate Damon's schedule.
