NBC executive Jamie Horowitz, who was only appointed to oversee all four hours of the Today Show ten weeks ago, has been fired from the network.

NBC News President Deborah Turness wrote in a memo to staff that they had mutually decided he wasn’t “the right fit” after reports have surfaced that he clashed with higher up executives as well as staff members.

New York Times reports Turness didn’t refer to Horowitz’s leaving as being terminated.

Bringing in Horowitz from ESPN, which is owned by the Walt Disney Company just like their competitor ABC, was another chess move in an attempt to win the ratings over Good Morning America.

However, the plan reportedly backfired and a lot of the rumored issues surrounding Natalie Morales and Tamron Hall reportedly center on him.

Deadline reports Horowitz had barely even started, as his official start date was Dec.1.

GMA continues to dominate in the ratings, so it looks like it’s back to the drawing board for NBC.
