Nearly a decade ago, music artists Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey were married and starring in their own reality show on MTV, Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica. Since then, both Simpson and Lachey have remarried and are enjoying parenthood with different spouses and Lachey opened up that not having children with Simpson was one of their better decisions.
"In our situation, that was probably the best thing that could have ever happened, that we didn't have kids," Lachey told Jenny McCarthy on her SiriusXM radio show. "All things being equal, it was the best thing probably for both of us, that we went on with our lives."
Lachey went on to say that him and Simpson do not hold any ill feelings toward each other but he still would not consider him and his ex-wife to be friends.
After Simpson and Lachey divorced in 2005, Lachey went on to marry Vanessa Minnillo. Lachey and his new wife are expecting their second child.
Simpson on the other hand went on to remarry NFL player Eric Johnson. Simpson and Johnson already have two children and Simpson said that they don't plan on having more children.
Lachey recently released his first solo album, Soundtrack of my Life, which is in stores now.
