The MTV Europe Music Awards took place on Sunday in Glasgow, which honored international music stars stars. Many winners were Americans, although U.K. boy band One Direction did manage to take home one more award than Ariana Grande, 5 Seconds to Summer and Katy Perry.

One Direction won three awards - Best Pop Act, Best Live Act and Best Fans. Australian boy band 5 Seconds To Summer was also a multi-award winner, with wins in the Best Push and Best New Artist categories.

Grande’s two wins came for Best Song (“Problem” with Iggy Azalea) and Best Female Act.

Perry also won two awards - Best Video for “Dark Horse” with Juicy J and Best Look.

Justin Bieber won Best Male Act, even though he didn’t release a new album in 2014. Best Rock Act went to Linkin Park, while the Jared Leto-fronted 30 Seconds to Mars won Best Alternative.

Nicki Minaj took home Best Hip Hop act. As Billboard notes, Minaj performed a new song that features Skylar Grey during a three-song set. The new track is called “Bed of Lies.” She also performed “Super Bass” and “Anaconda.”

Calvin Harris was named the Best Electronic Act, while Enrique Iglesias won Best World Stage act. Bibi Zhou won Worldwide Act. Beyonce won Best Song With A Message.

The show, which took place at the SSE Hydro, actually ended with a performance form another venue. MTV notes that Alicia Keys closed the show with a soulful performance of “We Are Here” from the O2 Academy.
