Community has lost a lot of cast members over the years, but the show has just added two new actors to the show for its sixth season.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paget Brewster (Criminal Minds) and Keith David (Enlisted) have signed on to join the show for the upcoming season.
Brewster will play Frankie Dart, a consultant who comes in to try to help improve Greendale. David is set to play Elroy Patashnik, retired scientist who comes to Greendale to reinvent himself. Both have dabbled in comedy recently, with Brewster appearing on Drunk History and Key and Peele and David appearing in Direct TV's original comedy series Things You Shouldn't Say Past Midnight.
Both actors have actually appeared on Community before. Paget Brewster appeared last season as the head of the IT department in "Analysis of Cork-Based Networking," and Keith David was the narrator in the Season 3 episode "Pillows and Blankets."
Community was definitely in need of some new faces after losing so many over the years. According to Yahoo News, Yvette Nicole Brown (Shirley) will not be appearing in Season 6. This is the third member of the study group the show has lost after Donald Glover (Troy) and Chevy Chase (Pierce).
Guest star Jonathan Banks is also not expected back, as he is busy with the Breaking Bad spinoff Better Call Saul. It hasn't been confirmed whether John Oliver will be back, though his return is definitely possible as his show Last Week Tonight just wrapped production for the year.
Community Season 6 will air exclusively online via Yahoo after the series was cancelled by NBC last year. It is expected to air in January 2015.
