Pitch Perfect sure feels like an innocent, fun comedy about an underdog a capella group that rises to win a competition with the help of Anna Kendrick’s Beca... or is it? A hilarious parody of the film reveals what it is really about.

Last month, Denver-based comedy group Sook St. Productions posted Pitch Perfect 237, which takes the Room 237-style analysis of Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining to a new level. Over a span of six minutes, the group completely breaks down the 2012 cult film to show that it is really exposing a 9/11 conspiracy. It actually has nothing to do with a cappella.

Kendrick peppered the film with clues that link Harry Connick Jr. (who celebrates his birthdays on Sept. 11), American Idol (or really American IDLE), Skylar Astin and her “Cups” performance to 9/11. Even Pat Sajak and Wheel of Fortune is caught in the web.

Perhaps Pitch Perfect 2 will build on this web of conspiracy. You can check out the trailer for the sequel here.
