The Oakland Raiders did something Thursday night they had not done in over a year. They won a game, defeating the Kansas City Chiefs 24-20. Oakland had lost their last 16 games, with its last win coming Nov. 17, 2013 against the Houston Texans.

Raiders’ running back Latavius Murray got the Silver & Black on the board early with a pair of touchdowns, giving Oakland a 14-0 lead two and a half minutes into the second quarter. Murray amassed 112 yards on four carries before leaving the game with a concussion.
The Chiefs remained resilient, as they battled back to tie the game at 17 early in the fourth on a 30-yard touchdown strike from Alex Smith to Jamaal Charles. Kansas City took the lead with nine minutes left when Cairo Santos booted a 25-yard field goal.
However, the Raiders struck again as quarterback Derek Carr orchestrated a 17-play, 80-yard drive that resulted in a nine-yard pass to James Jones for the score.
Carr finished 18 of 35 for 174 yards and one touchdown. Meanwhile, Smith compiled 234 yards and two touchdowns on 20 of 36 passing, according to ESPN.com.
Adding to the festive mood of the Raiders picking up their first win was the halftime ceremony, where the organization recognized hall-of-fame punter Ray Guy. The seven-time Pro Bowl selection won three Super Bowls with the Raiders and was the first full-time punter inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, reports The AP.
