Randy Jackson is leaving American Idol once again- this time for good.

Back in 2012 it was reported that Jackson would no longer be a judge on the singing competition show after the 11th season, but would instead be a mentor to contestants.

The Hollywood Reporter is now reporting that the musician/record producer/television personality has decided to leave the show again after serving as a mentor for the past 2 seasons. He will not be returning to the 14th season of the show.

About his departure, FreemantleMedia North America and 19 Entertainment released a statement, saying, "Randy has been such an integral part of American Idol since Day 1, both as a judge and as a mentor. He’s provided great advice and support, shaping the success of so many Idols we have discovered over the years. We wish him all the best in his next chapter. Randy will always be part of our Idol family and we hope he’ll visit from time to time."

With Jackson departing from American Idol, Ryan Seacrest will be the only original team member- that included Jackson, Paula Abdul, and Simon Cowell- to return for the 14th season.

Along with Seacrest, judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. will all be back for the next season.
