Oscar winners Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman are about to come to your television screens thanks to prolific TV writer David E. Kelley.

The project, based on the Liane Moriarty book Big Little Lies, will be written by Kelly and does not have a home just yet. According to The Hollywood Reporter, it is being taken to both premium cable networks like HBO and Showtime and streaming services like Netflix and Hulu. Whoever gets it will pull off a major victory.

Kidman’s Blossom Films and Witherspoon’s Pacific Standard nabbed the screen rights to Biggest Little Lies in August. At the time, it was being set up as a film, but considering how well other A-listers have gone to TV without losing their reputations (and in some cases bolstering them) they might have begun considering it an option.

The story centers on the mothers of kindergartners whose lives are ruined by a murder-mystery that began at a school fundraiser.

Moriarty will also be a producer on the series. The stars will executive produce with Kelley.

Kelley is among the top TV writers, responsible for Ally McBeal, The Practice and Boston Legal. His last project was CBS’ The Crazy Ones, which lasted just a season.

Witherspoon is currently in the Oscar race for Jean-Marc Vallee’s Wild. Among Kidman’s next films is the family movie Paddington.
