Three months after his untimely death, the autopsy report for actor Robin Williams has been released, confirming that the actor died from asphyxiation from hanging, and that no illicit drugs or alcohol was in his system when he committed suicide at his Marin County, California home on August 11.
Back in August it was reported that the 63-year-old actor died from an apparent suicide. His rep released a statement that said, "He has been battling severe depression of late. This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time."
E! News is now reporting that the Marin County Sheriff's Office and Coroner have concluded the investigation surrounding Williams' death, and have confirmed that the actor died from asphyxiation.
A thorough toxicology evaluation was done on the actor. Findings report that there weren't any illicit drugs or alcohol in the actor's system upon death. Williams did, however, have "therapeutic concentrations" of prescription medications in his system. TMZ is reporting that the drugs found in his system were 2 antidepressants and 2 caffeine compounds.
The coroner's report, obtained by TMZ reports that Williams was struggling with his Parkinson's, anxiety, depression and paranoia at the time of his death.
After his passing, William's wife, Susan Schneider, gave a statement, saying how appreciative his family was for the "tremendous outpouring of affection and admiration for him from the millions of people whose lives he touched," reports E! News. Schneider also expressed that she hoped anyone else dealing with internal struggles like depression, would seek help.
