Well, at least Wisconsin's RB Melvin Gordon slightly knew the feeling of holding a major college football record which stood for 15 years. Only one-week after Gordon broke the record for most rushing yards in an FBS college football game, Oklahoma's Samaje Perine did it on Saturday with an amazing 427 yards, topping Gordon's 408.

Perine, a freshman, did it today against Kansas, notes CBS Sports. He carried the ball an incredible 34 times for a 12.6 YPC and five touchdowns (49, 33, 34, 66 and 27 yards respectively.)

The record breaking performance was never in doubt as Perine had rushed 25 times for 408 yards by the end of the third quarter.

As expected, the #23 Sooners ( (8-3, 5-3 Big 12) wound up smacking the lowly Jayhawks (3-8, 1-7, Big 12) by the final of 44-7. This marks the 29th straight road loss for Kansas.

For the season, Perine has now rushed for 1,428 yards and 19 touchdowns, which is a school record for a freshman.
