Showtime said on Monday that Homeland has earned a fifth season, while freshman series The Affair won a second.

The Affair’s second season will run 10 episodes. It focuses on two marriages and an affair that links the four characters together. Ruth Wilson, Joshua Jackson, Dominic West and Maura Tierney star.

Homeland hit a wall during its second season after getting a heap of awards for its first. The show, now without Damian Lewis, underwent major changes in its fourth season, with some critics suggesting that it had returned to form.

After its first season, Homeland, which stars Claire Danes as the emotionally unstable Carrie Mathison, won the Emmy for Outstanding Drama. Danes won the Outstanding Actress in a Drama Emmy twice.

“In its fourth season, Homeland has brilliantly reinvented itself. It continues to capture the attention of a devoted fan base, and has provided an enviable platform for the successful launch of The Affair,” Showtime president David Nevins said in a statement. “With thought-provoking, timely and addictive storylines, both series have been embraced, dissected and much debated week after week. We’re excited to see more from these compelling shows in 2015.”

Showtime has seen a stunning streak of success lately. It also renewed Masters of Sex and Ray Donovan for next year as well.
