G.R.L. singer and former X-Factor contestant, may have died over two months ago after hanging herself in her L.A. home, but her family claims that money will still be flowing in to her estate from contracts she signed shortly before her death.

Back in September it was reported that the 25-year-old singer was found dead in her L.A. home by her boyfriend. It was just days later that her death was officially ruled a suicide.

Family and friends of Battle said that the singer may have been depressed over money problems and TMZ reports that she apparently only had around $6,000 in cash to call her own at the time of her death. Battle's mother, Donna Morgan, however, claims that Battle had signed deals with companies like Sony and Coca-Cola shortly before she died. Morgans says that Battle's estate should be getting a lot of money from those deals.

There's one problem, though: Morgan won't be able to collect any of that money unless she's appointed administrator of Simone's estate. Sony, Coca-Cola, and other companies that Battle signed contracts with have refused to hand over anything to Morgan until then.

Morgan applied to be the administrator of her daughter's estate, and it's currently still pending.

Shortly after Battle's death, many friends and fans tweeted out their condolences.
