So You Think You Can Dance is coming back to Fox once again, but this time, you can expect to see more variety from the dancers.
After dancers are selected to move on to the next part of competition, they will be split into two different teams composed of classically trained stage dancers and hip-hop street dancers. Dancers will have to bring out some inspired creativity to their routines in order to stand out in the "stage versus street" competition until 10 stage dancers and 10 street dancers are selected to face off to become the winner.
“The competition is going to be much more exciting for viewers and even more demanding for the dancers,” judge and producer of the show Nigel Lythgoe said according to Variety “Dancers from different genres have always been competitive with each other and we’ve found a great way to harness that to bring out the absolute best performances in the best dancers across the country.”
It wasn't clear whether or not Fox would move forward with Season 12 after the previous season of the show hit an all time low for ratings.
Only time will tell if Fox's new twist on the series will bring in higher ratings. Catch Season 12 of So You Think You Can Dance return to Fox summer, 2015.
