Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell has announced her engagement to head of the Formula 1 racing team, Christian Horner, through an announcement in the newspaper. She followed up with a confirmation on Twitter.

The UK’s The Times printed on Tuesday’s Births, Marriages and Deaths page of the paper, “The engagement is announced between Christian, son of Mr and Mrs G.M. Horner and Geraldine, daughter of the late Mr L.F. Halliwell and Mrs A. Parkinson."

She then tweeted, “Christian and I are delighted to announce that we are engaged! We're both very happy.”

Halliwell and Horner have only been dating since earlier this year. She has a daughter, Bluebell, 8, with her ex Sachi Gervasi and he has a 1-year-old daughter.

The couple’s engagement announcement comes about a week after Benedict Cumerbatch and Sophie Hunter announced their engagement in the same way.

Rumors first started to circulate about a possible engagement between the Spice Girl star and Horner this past July, The Mirror reports.

Halliwell has reportedly been telling friends, “I am the happiest I have been in my life."
