Stephen Collins is reportedly suing his estranged wife for $1 million after she recorded him confessing he molested at least 3 underage girls.
Early in October, TMZ reported that Collins had been recorded, confessing to the molestation. His wife, actress Faye Grant, recorded the actor's confession while the couple were at a therapy session. Collins confessed that one of the young victims was a relative of his first wife.
Collins filed for divorce from Grant over two years ago. The couple's divorce trial was set to start on November 12, but was delayed so that Grant could find another attorney. Her former attorney, Larry Ginsburg, resigned as her attorney just hours before the divorce trial was set to begin.
Now TMZ is reporting that Collins is now suing Grant for taping his molestation confession. In the documents obtained by TMZ, Collins claims that Grant was responsible for the tape being leaked to TMZ, which she has adamantly denied. He also said that Grant had no right to secretly record him and that she had a legal obligation to protect his privacy.
Collins is claiming that he wants $1 million, saying that since the tape leaked, he hasn't been able to get work.
Grant is looking for $13,000 a month in spousal support. The former 7th Heaven actor's attorney has said that he shouldn't have to pay spousal support to Grant due to the actor's loss of work.
