In a new interview, Susan Boyle, who came to fame in 2009 on Britain's Got Talent with an incredible audition, reveals her struggles with Asperger's syndrome. She explained that while she's content on stage, she has to face all of her many difficulties off stage.

Last year, it was reported that 53-year-old Susan Boyle had Asperger's syndrome. Before being diagnosed with Asperger's, which is a form of autism, Boyle was referred to as "brain damaged," and "different." When she was diagnosed, she said she felt relieved, adding on, "Asperger's doesn't define me. It's a condition that I have to live with and work through, but I feel more relaxed about myself."

Now the Scottish singer with an incredible voice is speaking out about some of her difficulties with Asperger's with the Daily Mail. She explained that her bad behavior always happens off stage and that she'd learning to control it. "I'm getting better at dealing with it because I know what it is. If I feel I'm going to take a mood swing, I get up and leave," she said.

On the other hand, Boyle explained that she feels "safe" while performing on stage. "When I’m up on stage, even if I’ve had a bad day, I can become a different person," she says. "I feel safe. I don’t feel judged up there. I feel accepted."

Boyle's latest album, titled Hope was released last month and can be purchased on iTunes and Amazon.
