William Shatner is returning to science fiction, but it has nothing to do with Star Trek. He’s booked a recurring role on the SyFy series Haven.
TV Line reports that Shatner will have a major part in four episodes during the show’s current season five.
Haven airs on SyFy on Fridays at 7 p.m. New episodes will continue to air through Dec. 5, when the midseason finale airs. The series stars Emily Rose, Lucas Bryant and Eric Balfour.
In other SyFy casting news, Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that Under The Dome star Mike Vogel will play the lead in Childhood’s End, a six-hour miniseries. His co-stars include Game of Thrones’ Charles Dance, Manhattan’s Ashley Zukerman and Osy Ikhile.
Childhood’s End is based on the 1953 Arthur C. Clarke novel and is part of SyFy’s attempt to go back to genuine science fiction. It was written by Life on Mars’ Matthew Graham.
