Carol Ann Susi, who voiced Howard Wolowitz's loud mother who never made an actual appearance on The Big Bang Theory, has died after battling an aggressive form of cancer.
Us Magazine reports the unfortunate news. Susi had a brief battle with the aggressive form of cancer before she died at the age of 62. The news is sad for those that have come to love the distinct voice and impeccable comedic timing of Susi, whose voice has made many appearances over The Big Bang Theory's 8 seasons.
CBS and executive producers Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro and Bill Prady released a joint statement about Susi's passing, saying, "The Big Bang Theory family has lost a beloved member today with the passing of Carol Ann Susi, who hilariously and memorably voiced the role of Mrs. Wolowitz."
The statement ended with CBS and the executive producers saying that "Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with her family during this time, and we will miss her greatly."
Susi's rep also released a statement about the actress, according to E! Online. Her rep said that the actress was a "spunky Italian gal from Brooklyn" that had many interests, especially cooking.
The actress had many roles on television. She guest starred on Cheers, Seinfeld, and Six Feet Under.
She is survived by her brother Michael Susi, and his wife, Connie, Us Weekly confirms.
