During last night's The Big Bang Theory, Leonard finds out that he needs to have surgery for his deviated septum. Sheldon objects to the surgery, thinking it is much too dangerous.

Sheldon listens to Leonard snore while he is sleeping. Leonard wakes up, wondering why Sheldon is at his bedside. He tells him that he will miss it, because whether he lives or dies in surgery, the snoring will stop.

The next day, Sheldon calculates the probability that Leonard will die during the procedure. He factors in a bunch of different possibilities, such as getting in an accident while driving there, an allergy to the doctor’s latex gloves and an asteroid strike. Leonard agrees to think more about going through with the surgery since it is a week away.

Leonard decides to go to get the surgery done without Sheldon knowing. He tells him that he is going to a public swimming pool with Penny. Sheldon gets caught up on how much urine is in public pools and doesn't think anything of it. While he is discussing it with Amy who is driving him to work, he realizes that Leonard wouldn’t go swimming without his swim shirt.

Sheldon sees that Amy is acting strange and he gets her to confess that Leonard is getting the surgery. Sheldon demands that Amy takes him to see Leonard because he is his best friend and also, he needs to be at his bedside to say “I told you so” if he dies.

The two join Penny in the waiting room. Sheldon has a get-well bear with him, but it isn’t for Leonard, it is for him. Amy bought it for him after he stubbed his toe in the lobby. They try to have a normal conversation, but Sheldon instead asks Penny if they have ever discussed funeral arrangements.

While waiting, the lights go out in the waiting room and Sheldon runs into a glass door when he tries to go check on Leonard. The two end up at home with bandages on their noses.

A few days later, a delivery comes for Sheldon —an engraved urn. The engraving says that Leonard “thought he was right, but his roommate knew better.” He also got one for himself that reads “I’m with stupid.”

In the sub plot, Raj is devastated to find that his parents have divorced the night before their 40th anniversary. Howard and Bernadette bring Raj muffins at work to try and cheer him up, but the muffins and Bernadette’s puns don’t quite work.

Back at home, Bernadette expresses her concern to Howard about their relationship. Raj mentioned that he believes the divorce was due to the fact that his parents bottled up the little things that bothered them about each other.

Bernadette asks Howard to tell her something that bothers him about her. He tries to avoid an answer, telling Bernadette that they shouldn’t criticize each other. He explains that in couple’s therapy, that Bernadette suspects he went to with his mom, they had to tell each other the qualities they like. The two start saying things they like, but it turns into an argument when it starts becoming sarcastic.

Raj drops in and joins them at the dinner table. When Howard tells him what they are doing, Raj chimes in that it was the same exercise that they had done together in couple’s therapy.
