Last Wednesday Criminal Minds took us into the world of the dangers of posting your pictures on the Internet. When I heard about this episode and the fact that the killer was influenced by an entity that was created in a story, the first thought I had was of the infamous Slender Man case, when two girls stabbed their friend and left her for dead. Of course, the episode did, indeed, reference the stabbing as we saw a killer strike popular Internet stars who posted selfies like hot cakes.

The case took a turn at one point when one of the victims taunted the unsub and we also got a glimpse of the unsub, even though we didn’t realize who he was. The media sensationalizes the story, of course, and ends up becoming a menace during a crucial moment in the episode, drawing the ire of Agent Callahan.

In another storyline, Morgan and his girlfriend, Savannah, faced difficulty when Morgan realized she didn’t pack for a vacation because, according to her, she has gotten her hopes up before only to be crushed due to his job. Morgan ends up confused on how to make things right, until insight from Garcia gives him an idea.

We’re looking at some of the top moments in the episode “Hashtag,” from the downright terrifying to the touching and sweet conversations between our agents.
