Last week's episode of Gracepoint began with the memorial service for Jack Reinhold, who had passed away after committing suicide when his past was dredged back up in the papers. The papers, who had once vilified him, immediately proclaimed his innocence, and Paul Coates made sure it was known about how he felt in regards to what happened.

The focus was taken off of Danny’s disappearance for a short time as Detective Miller’s son, Tom, went missing three blocks from his school. A frantic search for Tom revealed that he was seen down the road heading for the place where Lars Pierson lived. Pierson is the hitchhiker whose phone number was found in Danny’s jacket.

Meanwhile, Detective Carver got a visit from his daughter, Julianne, who came after getting his message. Unfortunately, because of Tom’s disappearance and the reappearance of Pierson once he was located, he doesn’t have time to talk to her and she eventually leaves.

We also learn that Renee Clemons left town after Jack’s death and we got to see some more tension between Vince and Susan. With so many questions and twists and turns, we’re still trying to figure out the connections between all these people.

Let’s take a look at some of the top ten moments from the seventh episode of Gracepoint.

10. Press conference

In the wake of Tom’s disappearance, the police do a press conference to discuss the disappearance and how they are making sure to continue the investigation into Danny’s death. The media is growing restless of the time it is taking for the investigation to progress and want to know that the children are being kept safe in the community.

9. Vince and Susan

Susan appears to keep trying to involve herself in Vince’s life, including when she brings brownies over to Vince’s mother. Vince angrily throws them away and then goes to find Susan to order her to stay away from them. Susan tells Vince that she knows he did something and he should tell her everything. What exactly is the story with these two? Only time will tell.

8. Ellie and Joe

After Tom’s disappearance, which occurred when Joe didn’t walk him the rest of the way to school, Ellie was deeply upset and scared, especially since they had agreed he would walk him back and forth all the way from school to home. By the end of the episode, they both apologize, him for not going all the way with Tom and Ellie for blaming him.

[new page= Julianne]

7. Julianne

We meet Julianne in this episode and get to see a small dynamic between her and her father. However, because of the case, Detective Carver doesn’t get to spend time with her. She eventually snoops in his desk drawer and finds medication for his heart issues. This information scares her but Carver assures her he is fine and the medicine helps. Julianne is not happy with her dad, especially when he is more focused on another kid than her, even if it is part of his job.

[new page= Do what she says]

6. Do what she says

When the cops find out that Lars Pierson went home to his cabin, Ellie and Carver go down there. Ellie, who is already stressed and scared due to her son’s disappearance, begins barking orders to the investigating officers at the residence. At one point she leaves the room and Carver looks at the cops and tells them that it would be a good idea to “do what she says.”

Jack’s memorial was very touching, with Paul Coates talking about the man’s life and how they all came together to grieve. He also made a subtle dig toward people who didn’t do enough to help him, which Carver figured was directed at him.

2. Find

While we have no idea exactly what happened to Tom, we do know he appeared to be heading for the home of Lars Pierson. In an earlier episode, he had gone through his mom’s police file and found the man’s phone number. As Mark and Paul are searching the woods where he was believed to have been riding, they discover the location of his blue and black bike, which causes his parents to become horrified when they see it themselves.

1. Lars Pierson

Lars Pierson finally makes his appearance in person instead of just flashbacks. He appears to be confused and focused on wanting food. When asked about knowing Tom, he is unsure and can only say ‘I don’t know.’ Ellie becomes frustrated and begins yelling at him, so Carver gets her out of the room. In a later interview, Carver gets Pierson to admit that he knew Danny because the boy had asked him a question for his crossword puzzle and spoke to him about wanting to get out of Gracepoint to see the world. It still makes us wonder if Lars had any contact with Tom.
