Tonight’s episode of Jane The Virgin continued the exciting adventures of Jane, her family, Michael, and Rafael. Rafael reveals to Jane in this episode that he is divorcing Petra, and Jane doesn’t know that Michael knew about the affair. She becomes conflicted over what to do about the baby at this point, as she did not want the baby to grow up without two parents.
Meanwhile, Jane is still not talking to her mom and she goes to stay with Michael. She meets with her father to find out more about him, but Rogelio overdoes it and Jane has expectations that are too high. They eventually find a balance, but after 23 years of not knowing each other, it will take a while.
In this episode, we were introduced to bell boy Tom, who is also known for being disgusting. He apparently was not on the list of people working that night even though Jane knew he was. We don’t know where he is for part of the episode, until the final scene leaves us with a shocking cliffhanger.

After trying to hit his brother up for money, we find out that Michael’s brother is dating Jane’s best friend, Lina. Michael and his brother, Billy, do not get along and Michael does not trust him, especially once he finds out about this.

9. Michael and Rafael
Michael goes to Rafael’s office to get records about a bell boy who may have seen something the night Ramon died. However, Rafael thinks there is something else going on, such as tension about Jane, but Michael says he’s there on police business. When his partner leaves, Rafael asks if Michael wants the baby, but he tells Rafael that he just wants “what Jane wants” before leaving.

Jane is still deeply hurt that her mom lied to her, so she decides to move out to get some space. She leaves the house to go live with Michael and they talk through text, where Michael tells her she should make up with her mom so she can be there on her wedding day.

Jane finds out from Rafael that Petra cheated and their marriage is in trouble. He also tells Jane that he still wants to raise the baby, but she doesn’t know what to do. She wanted the baby to have a two-parent home so it would have a better life than she did.

6. Rogelio and Jane
Jane goes to meet with her father and a hilarious entrance ensues when Rogelio decides to come down the stairs, even though they are very long so he rushes down instead. He tells Jane to call him dad, but she’s not ready and they share a hug. Another scene shows their meeting, where Rogelio shows Jane how vain he is. When Michael picks her up, she almost says she needs her mother, but stops, since she is still clearly upset.

We see a scene between Rogelio and Jane where it appears they are both trash talking Xiomara and are setting a voodoo doll of her on fire. However, it is just Xiomara’s imagination running wild as her mother tries to calm her down.

4. Michael’s past
After finding out his brother is dating Jane’s best friend, Michael is upset because he knows Billy is using the girl to get under his skin. Jane knows about the bad things he did as a kid, but he never told her specifically. We find out that Michael and Billy illegally sold car parts and that Billy took the fall. Jane asks Michael not to lie to her anymore.

Rogelio, Michael, and Jane are having dinner and things seem to be going fine, until Rogelio tries to defend Xiomara to Jane. However, Jane is still upset and tells Rogelio that she always thought about him, but never had the chance to know him and she gets up to leave.

After having a talk with her father again, Jane makes a decision about the baby. She goes to Rafael with Michael to tell him that she can’t walk away from her child and that they can work out a custody arrangement, the three of them.

At the end of the episode, Jane is getting ready to make a romantic night for Michael and is looking for a jersey she plans on wearing, She accidentally knocks over Michael’s police files and ends up seeing something that causes her to look upset. Meanwhile, Rafael is speaking to his stepmother when they come across the prone body of the bell boy that Michael is looking for, Disguisting Tom. Before he dies, he says the name of the person who attacked him: Sin Rostro.
