Last night’s episode of The Flash, titled “The Flash is Born,” saw Barry taking on his childhood bully, Tony Woodward, who is now able to turn himself into steel as the result of being thrown into a vat of molten steel ten months earlier. Tony ends up putting Iris in danger by trying to get her to write about him instead of the streak, who he tries to convince Iris was defeated.

We also saw Iris and The Flash meet again, which doesn’t please Caitlin when she finds out that Barry was not on duty when he confronted Tony before he flew onto their radar. Meanwhile, Joe works with Harrison on the murder of Norah Allen while he assigns Barry to work with Eddie after the latter sees the impossible when it comes to Woodward.

Iris is also in danger in this episode because of her blog, and a showdown occurs in front of her between Tony and Barry. Another exciting episode, with plenty of jaw-dropping moments, and more questions to ponder about certain characters and their motives. Let’s take a look at the top ten moments from last night’s “The Flash is Born.”

10. Joe and Harrison

Joe works with Harrison in this episode to find out what could have caused Norah’s death. Harrison tries to get him off track because his particle accelerator wasn’t even made yet and he realizes that Joe thinks he was involved, especially since he opened his lab a month after her death. Harrison tells him to look up a woman named Tess Morgan, who was Harrison’s lab partner and wife. She died in an accident and Harrison had come to Central City to build a new life. It’s interesting to see their dynamic, especially since we’re not yet sure if Harrison is being helpful or throwing Joe off even more.

Cisco, who is always trying to come up with ways to help Barry as The Flash, creates what he calls a “Girder,” a metallic mannequin that is supposed to help Barry learn to fight Tony. 3. Showdown

The final showdown between Tony and Barry takes place at the school where Iris has been taken. When Barry is having a hard time defeating him, he remembers a moment when Joe told him that if he can’t defeat someone, then run away. Barry does this and he runs exactly the number of miles he needs to in order to go as fast as he can to stop his target, delivering a super sonic punch.

2. The Flash

After all that has happened, Barry and Iris make up at the end of the episode and he allows her to talk about the streak if she wants to. As she talks to him, she tries to come up with a phrase for how fast he can go and Barry offers ‘in a flash?’ It is then she comes up with his name and The Flash is, well, born!

[new page= Joe]

1. Joe

The final scene of the episode has Joe at home working when the power goes out. Without warning, a red streak runs around him and he sees someone in yellow in the center. After the person leaves, he sees a photo of Iris with a knife sticking through it. It appears the person who killed Norah Allen is sending a warning.
