NBC has pulled the plug on the planned Bill Cosby sitcom, Netflix has postponed his comedy special, and now the television network, TV Land, has pulled all reruns of The Cosby Show after rape allegations against Bill Cosby arose just weeks ago.
The Cosby Show might be a beloved American sitcom, whose reruns are still shown on various networks today, but that hasn't stopped TV Land from discontinuing reruns of the show, according to E! News.
The news comes just after NBC reportedly made the decision to pull the plug on a new sitcom featuring Cosby. Although the show will no longer be airing, Cosby is still being cut a check. A contract between Cosby and NBC stated that even if the show never made it to the tv pilot stage, the 77-year-old comedian would still get paid.
Netflix also decided to postpone a comedy special featuring the comedian, called, Bill Cosby 77. The comedy special was filmed on Cosby's 77th birthday back in July.
Although TV Land hasn't released on official statement about pulling all The Cosby Show reruns from its schedule, a source confirmed to E! that the show will no longer air on the network.
TV Land was reportedly planning to air several marathons of the show during the holiday season. Now the network is working to figure something else out.
