Comedy Central star Amy Schumer took over MTV’s social media accounts last night to make a big announcement. She has been picked to host the 2015 MTV Movie Awards.
Schumer posted messages on both Facebook and Twitter to announce that she will be the host for the ceremony. It isn’t scheduled until April 12, so she has a long time to put her material together.
The Inside Amy Schumer star was clearly excited, since she screamed when she finally got to announce it.
“I am honored to be hosting the awards,” Schumer said in a statement to Variety. “I will carry the audience with me like a teen mom #breaktheinternet #breakmywater.”
Schumer stars in Inside Amy Schumer for Comedy Central, which will be kicking off its third season around the time of the awards. In addition, she is set to star in Judd Apatow’s next film, Trainwreck, which will be released in July by Universal. That film co-stars Bill Hader, Vanessa Bayer, Colin Quinn and Brie Larson.
Last year’s ceremony was hosted by Conan O’Brien. You can check out our Top 10 favorite MTV Movie Awards hosts here.
