Anderson Cooper missed Monday’s episode of his CNN show, but he will be back on tonight, just a day after undergoing an emergency appendectomy.

Cooper tweeted that he had an appendicitis, which required an emergency surgery Sunday night.

According to Mediabistro, Cooper started feeling stomach pains last Tuesday while he was in Ferguson to cover the protests. However, he still went to France for Thanksgiving and it just got worse. When he arrived back in New York, his doctor informed him that he may have appendicitis.

Cooper stayed at a New York hospital Sunday night and went back home on Monday. The recovery was speedy, so he will be back on AC360 tonight at 8 p.m.

“I am very thankful for the efforts of my doctor and the doctors and nurses at New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center,” Cooper added in a statement.
