Barbara Walters has named George Clooney’s wife, Amal Clooney, the Most Fascinating Person of 2014, which she revealed during her annual ABC special on Sunday night.
Walters compared the human rights lawyer to that of Jackie O, the Duchess of Cambridge and the late Princess Diana. Her main appeal, she notes, is that she had whatever it took to get one of the most notorious bachelors of our generation to settle down.
"I guess the question is, 'What does it take to fascinate one of the most fascinating men in the world?' She is known primarily through her spouse, and while we know little about her, we know a great deal about him. And he has fascinated many women—especially me,” Walters said, E! Online reports.
After naming some of his exes, including most recently Elisabetta Canalis and Stacey Keibler, Walters said Clooney, like her husband, is “a star in her own world."
Of course, Walters also covered the fact that the Clooneys had the “wedding of the year” in Italy.
The second most fascinating according to Walters was Taylor Swift, whose album 1989 had the biggest sales week since 2002.
