The Chicago Bears season has gone from worse to utter disaster, recently being capped off by a horrific game against the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football. Now, starting quarterback Jay Cutler is being benched.

Adam Schefter of ESPN has reported that Jimmy Clausen will start in favor of Cutler in Week 16 when the Bears take on the Detroit Lions.

Cutler has thrown six interceptions in the last three games, and 10 in the last six games, notes Pro Football Reference. While most know the Bears defense is as bad as it gets in the NFL, the struggles of the offense have come as a major surprise.

More than the numbers though, the aura around the entire team is pitiful. No leadership, fire or any sense of direction has plagued the team, and Cutler is the main culprit. He's been showing poor demeanor, calling out teammates far too often.

Clausen will take over a broken team that will face a Panthers team battling for their playoff lives in the NFC South. If Cutler fails to play again this season, his final line will be 3,640 passing yards, 28 touchdowns and 18 interceptions.
