The president of the NFL Players Association is back in the NFL. The Cincinnati Bengals signed NFLPA president Eric Winston on Tuesday.

According to USA Today, Winston signed a one-year prorated contract with the Bengals. The deal is still being finalized. The signing comes at a time when the Bengals need help at the right offensive tackle position. Last week the Bengals placed right tackle Andre Smith on injured reserve. Smith was put on injured reserve because of a triceps injury. Marshall Smith and Clint Boling filled in for Smith on Sunday.

Winston tweeted about the news.

“Who dey! who dey! who dey think goin to beat them Bengals!?!?” he tweeted.

Winston had workouts with a couple of teams this season. He worked out for the Philadelphia Eagles, Atlanta Falcons, and Minnesota Vikings. In training camp he was on the Seattle Seahawks roster, but was released. Winston hasn’t played this year yet, but he played in 16 games with the Arizona Cardinals last year, according to ESPN. He has also played for the Houston Texans and the Kansas City Chiefs.

In addition to signing Winston, the Bengals have announced that they have waived offensive tackle Jamon Meredith. Linebacker J.K. Schaffer has also been waived. The Bengals now have one spot on the 53-man roster open.
