Bill Cosby used his Twitter page for the first time in weeks to thank two celebrities who have actually supported him over the past month. The comedian’s career has been put on hold as he continues to face allegations from over a dozen women that he sexually assaulted them.
Cosby’s first tweet since Nov. 17 simply read, “Thank you @WhoopiGoldberg.” According to Entertainment Weekly, this was in reference to Goldberg’s statements on The View last month, when she said she had plenty of questions and would reserve her judgement.
“I hope somebody gets to the bottom of this, but I’m going to reserve my judgment because I have a lot of questions, as I said,” she said, notes the Washington Times. “It’s crazy, but I have a lot of questions, because I know we all have friends who have gone through this.”
Cosby’s second tweet was directed at Jill Scott and reads, “Thank you @MissJillScott, from the Cosby Family.” That’s in reference to the singer’s several tweets. She didn’t defend the actions that Cosby is accused of, but she did ask if there was more evidence to back the claims up.
Cosby could be heading to court, since a woman filed a lawsuit agaisnt him, claiming that Cosby sexually abused her when she was just 15 in 1974. Also this week, Cosby resigned from Temple University’s board of trustees and UMass Amherst cut its ties with him.
