Apparently Rihanna and Brad Pitt have a friendship, which he proved while doing the honors of introducing her at her inaugural Diamond Ball charity event in Los Angeles on Thursday night.
The Fury star gave the “Diamonds” singer a Comedy Central Roast-like introduction, joking around about her successful career and her mentor, Jay Z.
He was referring to an old photo plastered on the big screen of Rihanna before being taken under the rapper’s wing, with Pitt joking, “Look at the young girl before you, all full of hopes and dreams, living a humble existence in Barbados.” He added she “soon fell in with a bad crowd led by the dubious and nefarious character known as The Jay Z.”
USA Today reports he continued, “For those you not in the know, The Jay Z was an evil impresario known for turning out hit records and ripping insane lyrics and fresh beats.”
Pitt then joked about Rihanna’s packed schedule, saying ‘Rihanna put down that sandwich, get off your ass and do something. God damnit, just do something with your life.”
x17 reports the event benefited Rihanna’s Clara Lionel Foundation and it was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. Celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner, Salma Hayek, performer Big Sean, Tyrese Gibson and more.
Rihanna even performed at the event, singing hits like “Pour It Up,” “"Where Have You Been," and "Umbrella."
