When facing the St. Louis Rams on Thursday Night Football, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Drew Stanton left the game with what looked like a very serious knee injury. It turned out to be an ACL, MCL sprain, and looked as though he might be lost for the season. Now it appears Stanton has a chance to come back.

Mike Juerecki of Fox Sports 910 first reported the ACL, MCL sprain. Today though, head coach Bruce Arians told everybody that there is no ligament damage in the knee and Stanton remains day to day.

Although the Cards entered the Rams game tied for the league best with 10 wins, most have written them off because of Carson Palmer's injury. The enormous 12-6 win over the Rams coupled with the news that Stanton could return as soon as next week, will allow people to jump right back on the bandwagon.

With a record now of 11-3, the Cardinals have almost assured themselves a playoff berth. It will essentially only take them one win out of their last three games to get in.

The Seattle Seahawks, who currently sit at 9-4, now must win this Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers to keep pace. That game holds much importance due to the fact that Seattle and Arizona meet in Week 16, possibly to see who wins the NFC West and receives the all-important first-round BYE.

For the season, Stanton has thrown for 1,711 yards and seven touchdowns while appearing in nine games.
