Chris Rock’s split from his wife, Malaak Compton-Rock, might be getting messier than fans originally thought it would be. In a petition, Rock has accused his estranged wife of keeping their daughters from him.

In the divorce paperwork he filed with the Superior Court of New Jersey, the Top Five star wrote Compton-Rock has “repeatedly refused” him access to their kids; Lola, 12, and Zahra, 10.

He also wrote she “has acted in a manner detrimental to the children's best interests,” NJ.com reports.

In a statement to People, Compton-Rock has responded, saying she’s “saddened and disappointed” about his allegations.

She said he knows they are “untrue and can be so easily disproved. We all know Chris leads a very busy public life while Malaak and their children definitely do not.”

His rep also denied he left his wife for his Top Five co-star Rosario Dawson.

The couple married in 1996 and she founded the non-profit organization styleWORKS.
