Christian Bale wants to clear up recent quotes about he said about George Clooney, saying he was either misquoted or his interview was edited.
The Dark Knight Rises star was quoted by WSJ Magazine as telling Clooney to “shut up” and stop complaining about the constant presence of paparazzi in his life.
“It doesn’t matter that he talks about it,” he reportedly said. “It’s like, come on, guys, just shut up. Just get on with it and live your lives and stop whining about it. I prefer not to whine about it.”
However, Bale told E! News at the Exodus: Gods and Kings event at the Brooklyn Museum he was “scratching his head” when that interview came out, not remembering when he even said that. He even suggested it could’ve been a “well-intentioned edit.”
"I said, ‘When on earth would I had said that?'" he said. “I've got immense respect for him and I can't even begin to imagine the invasion of his privacy. Our lives don't even begin to compare. He's a true movie star. I'm just somebody who was lucky to get a job."
Clooney’s privacy was jeopardized even more recently when he married his now-wife Amal Clooney. Bale attended the event with his wife of 14 years, Sibi Blazic.
