Actress Claire Holt is considered as a possibility for a super role.

The actress is being tested to play the starring role in a new Supergirl TV series, according to IGN, along with other actresses. Holt previous played the character Rebekah Mikaelson on both The Vampire Diaries and The Originals. The new Supergirl show will be produced by Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros.

The Wrap reported that the new show will focus on Kara Zor El, a Kryptonian cousin to Superman. Kara had left Krypton before it was destroyed and came to Earth, keeping her powers secret from everyone. By the time she’s 24, she decides to use her powers and become a hero.

The show will air on CBS, and Greg Berlanti and Ali Adler will executive produce the show and serve as writers, according to The Wrap. Adler worked on series including Chuck and No Ordinary Family, while Berlanti is known for his current superhero shows Arrow and The Flash. Holt was also reported as co-starring in the Charles Manson crime drama Aquarius on NBC.
