The Daily Show with Jon Stewart has issued an apology to the district attorney in San Bernardino County, California for mentioning a death there in a segment about police shootings of black men.

During a segment on Monday, Stewart mentioned that the shooting death of unarmed black teen Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri was not an isolated incident. He then listed several black men who had been killed by police officers, including Dante Parker of San Bernardino County.

However, DA Mike Ramos objected to that, issuing a YouTube statement earlier this week to correct Stewart, notes the Press Enterprise.

Stewart’s Daily Show team later tweeted an apology, letting Ramos know that he was right. It was “Sloppy to put him in our list of shootings,” the tweet noted. They will include a longer apology during this Monday’s show.

In his video, Ramos said that Parker was not shot, but actually tasered by officers after they suspected him of a burglary on Aug. 12 in Victorville. The Victorville Daily Press reports that Parker’s autopsy listed PCP intoxication and cardiac issues as the cause of death.

“They Tasered him after he had committed a burglary and he was attempting to assault a deputy sheriff who was losing that struggle and was fighting for her life,” Ramos said.
